Non-Violent Resistance

Demonstrations are very much in the news. The mainstream Greek population are demonstrating their opposition to the austerity measures in Greece.

In the Middle East, people have been rising up against the dictatorships that have been in charge for decades.

Non violent resistance takes many forms. What other actions are open to citizens to achieve the goals of social justice and peace, equal rights and human rights at a national and international level?

If peaceful protest is ignored, what else can or should people do?

Withhold taxes, mass strikes, permanent sit-ins such as Tahrir Square and the occupations in Greece?
